Cacciaguida is a true story and also the nickname given to Vincenzo Casillo by his childhood friends. Vincenzo is not a very talkative kid from Puglia, who spends his days playing in the wheat fields and imagining his future in the territory in which he is growing up, helping his father, Don Ciccio, who works very hard in the old rural mill. His mother, Donna Cardenia, manages to take care of the whole country-house as well as the education of her 8 children, whilst his father, tenacious worker, gives out lessons to the kids on what he knows best: wheat. An overview of Italian history, from the 1950s until nowadays, Cacciaguida tells the story of an Italian entrepreneur which has created an empire tied to semolina and flour, transforming his father’s rural mill in a diversified commercial group, leader in Europe. The film is a poem, which narrates the values, the deep knowledge of raw material and the entrepreneurial view, which made Vincenzo the man who is still remembered today.
